The UK government has partnered with Meta Platforms to develop open-source AI tools aimed at enhancing public services. This initiative, backed by Meta's funding, will focus on national security, infrastructure management, and operational efficiency across key departments including Transportation and Safety.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer's administration views AI as a catalyst for economic growth and improved service delivery. "In a world that is moving to digital, it is essential that we create a digital state," said Ian Murray, Minister for Data and Modern Digital Government. The program will embed AI specialists within government agencies to streamline decision-making and accelerate service outcomes for citizens.
